As I gaze down upon this beautiful woman with perfect breasts and gorgeous eyes, I wonder what I did right to have her as my wife. Whatever decision the universe made to align my destiny with hers, I am eternally grateful for it. Anytime I remember the circumstances surrounding our union, I laugh. It’s funny now, a good story even, but it wasn’t then. Everyone frowned upon it; my parents refused to attend the wedding and even disowned me. Out of the fifty guests invited for the wedding, only ten showed up. It was really a struggle, but we stuck to our guns. We love each other; that’s all that matters. Every other person will come around in due time.

Our gist is an interesting one. I’ve known Lily all my life. She is, or should I say was, my mum’s best friend. Weird yeah? I know. I didn’t plan to fall in love with her, not at all. For the longest time, she was a second mother to me. I even called her “Aunty Lily”.

I guess the question going through your mind now is, “How did the motherly love turn to a romantic one?”. It’s not so long a story; I’ll tell you.

Lily — or should I call her Aunty Lily — was my mum’s school daughter and best friend in secondary school. They went to the same university and lived together till my mum got married. She was family.
